Model Portrait Session - 20th July 2010

This morning was spent doing a Model Portrait Session with Abby.

The theme was Urban, so we spent the morning walking aroud Guisborough looking for some good backgrounds to match the theme, once we got all the urban shots we needed we had an outfit change and grabed a couple of shots in a field!

14th & 15th July - Charity Event, Nursery Award Photo's

<

-- The photograph is one i took on Monday night at the Charity Event--

Yesterday was a busy-ish day, first thing in the morning I went off to photograph a girl who has been put up for a Nursery award, so i had to take a mixture of photographs of her. I took photographs of her with the children, on her own and with her colleages to send off to the press. I edited them there and then at the Nursery as there was a deadline for them to get to the press on time.

As soon as i got back home i had a spare half an hour to get on with editing a couple of photographs from the Chairty Event which i photographed Monday night.

In the afternoon i headed off out to go meet a Wedding client who is getting married next month. We covered all the details and went over the group shoots which she would like taking.

The rest of the afternoon was spent finishing the Charity Event photographs ready to pop the disc of photographs in the post today, i had already emailed over a couple of photographs the next day as they were needed for the press (one of which is above.) And i finished the Wedding photographs from last Friday, so now they are all ready to be uploaded to a client gallery on my website - this part i do not like as my site only lets me upload 5 at a time and seems theres around 400 pictures to upload i will be taking best part of a day doing it!!
The couple from the Wedding are away from 2 weeks on their honeymoon so i know there is no huge rush but i think i might force myself to make a start today on uploading them.

Depending what the weather is like today or tomorrow i'm going to go to York. I need to take some photographs of buildings for my portfolio, so thought York might be a good place to go IF it's not raining!

Intro...

I'm Emma a female photographer based in Teesside, North East UK.

Mainly focused on Portrait & Wedding Photography, lately i have been lucky enough to have been asked to photograph and get involved with other areas of photography, such as Events and Nursery school portraits.

Portraits can cover all ages, inclusive of pets! Different packages are also availble to suit everyone from Model Portfolios and Actors headshots, to Newborn's 1st year, and Portrait birthday party session's.

With all of my packages i offer a print or disc option (rarely found with other photographers) to suit you and what you want. The disc option means high resoultion photographs on disc so you are free to print as you want.

I aim to be affordable and different, I like to work in a relaxed unobtrusive manner. For Portraits Session's i have a portable studio, but where possible i often do photoshoots on location using local areas like parks and woods, or even beaches (when we get the weather!)
I do prefer shooting on location as i feel it can often give an interesting feel to a photograph, but also people tend to be more relaxed outdoors, especially children who get to run around and have fun, whilst even unaware they are been photographed.

I take time when it comes to the processing of the photographs, i like to make sure that each and every photograph is at the very best it can be, if that means by simply turning the picture to black and white, or making the picture high key, adding special effects or one of my favourite effects - selective colouring.

One of my photographs -the lollipop (as featured on my homepage on my website) is currently been shown in a Gallery after i was shortlisted in an Internation Photography Competition from 12,000 enteries.

I have many extciting projects in the pipeline, one HUGE, which is really exciting and i will be sharing more details of in the near future.
